The story of this band begins around 1990. Back in those days it was called Explosive Intent - a punk band consisting of John Connely-Vocals, James Pruit (later replaced by Bob Alper) - Drums , Steve Mallon-Guitar and Mike Mallon-Bass. After several years of playing together, the band members amicably split up in order to pursue other musical projects.
Jump ahead to 2005 when both Mike and Steve restarted the band as a creative vehicle to do side projects for the Spine Punch Music label. Initially the band appeared on the "What Are Friends For" and "A Very Spine Punch Christmas" cd compilations. This was soon followed bytheir own X-Mass Single "Small Town Christmas", releasing their first full length record "Pretty Little World" and doing shows around the east coast.
In 2009, while Mike and Steve's full time band "The Road Hogs" started to slow down, they began to focus more on Explosive Intent. Now leaning more towards a "rockabilly" sound, the band was faced with a choice to either keep or change the name. Explosive Intent was a great punk name but it did not portray the sound they wanted to play. So after MANY name ideas were tossed around... the Red Hill Ramblers were born!
So now the band consists of:
Steve Mallon- Guitar & Lead Vocals.
Mike Mallon- Upright Bass & Backup Vocals
Joe Covel- Drums

In about 2000 he switched to the Upright bass as they were forming the rockabilly band The Road Hogs. Mike and Cedric Crouch of "Spine Punch Music" are the studio engineers for all the recordings of Explosive Intent, The Road Hogs, and the up and coming Red Hill Ramblers projects.
Cedric has been working with us for many years now. He runs Spine Punch Music and helps produce and engineer our recording sessions. He also helps out at many of our shows with sound and other fun stuff.
Ryan played with us as Explosive Intent and recorded "Pretty Little World". Ryan left in 2009 as a full time member but now he is a fill in drummer as needed.
